DEBBIE REDDEN paints the world around her. She captures the streets downtown, the marinas and pleasure boats, the docks and fishing boats, the local marshes, rivers, and the picturesque houses all seen around Savannah. Her paintings are a diary of her life as an artist. She sets up her easel outside and immerses herself in the colors, textures, and light to paint the subject in the watercolor. Her passion for painting is evidenced in her work.

Redden works mainly in watercolor, a difficult medium that she finds constantly challenging and rewarding. She grew up along the Jersey coast sailing, crabbing, and enjoying all the shoreline had to offer. She has painted for years and has an MFA from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY. She retired as a Fine Art Professor from Monmouth University, Long Branch, NJ. Presently, she continues to teach in her home studio in Savannah. She is a Signature Member of the NJ Watercolor Society, Elected Member of the Audubon Artists, NY, and Exhibiting Member of the Guild of Creative Art, NJ, and the Landings Art Association.

She received many awards, including the Frederick Smallwood Award and the Silver Medal of Honor in NJ Watercolor Annual Juried Shows. She has received Best in Show plus 1st and 2nd in Watercolor at The Landings Annual Juried Art Shows. Her work was included in the Monmouth University Juried Exhibit, “Faculty and Friends”. In 2000, she was recognized for her contribution to the arts by NJ Senate Majority Leader John O. Bennett. She is Past President of the Guild of Creative Art, NJ.
