Deborah Redden, a lifetime resident of the Jersey Shore and an avid sailor, paints on location the boats, lighthouses and coastal scenes that have shaped her life and constantly challenge her artistically. Over time she has changed from a traditional approach in painting to a freer and bolder style. She works to capture the emotion of the scene in vibrant color and brushwork with results that are dramatic and exciting. Her love for painting and teaching merge in her workshops where people feel comfortable and inspired. "Watercolor is an exhilarating medium that constantly forces me to grow and explore new directions. My goal is to share the learning, decision-making skills and needed techniques in a supportive, stress-free, and fun atmosphere."
